The Canadian branch of solar electricity company SunEdison has partnered with SkyPower Corp. to build Canada's first ground mounted photovoltaic solar energy park.

Named First Light, and located in Stone Mills, Ontario (just north of Napanee, between Kingston and Belleville), the project is expected to generate more than 10 million kilowatt hours of electricity - enough to power nearly 1,000 homes - in the first year of operation.
