A Heavenly Message for Bayer Inc - Bayer Neonics Non!

Wednesday, April 27th 2016 11:33:22am

Media Advisory

(Montreal, QC - April 27, 2016) Just before 9am Thursday April 28th representatives of the media are advised to look up, way up, west of the Jacques Cartier bridge. Friends of the Earth Canada assisted by Aerogram will be delivering a message from the heavens to the maker of bee killing pesticides, Bayer Inc.

The Aerogram aircraft will orbit the Bayer offices at 1250 René-Lévesque West for about 1 hour.

Bayer is a major manufacturer of neonicotinoid pesticides believed to be a major cause of the death of millions of honey bees and other pollinating insects. In 2014, Bayer had sales of $1.9 billion in Canada and €42.2 billion globally.

The “buzzing” of the Bayer offices takes place one day before the firm’s Annual General Meeting takes place in Cologne Germany.

Bayer is one the manufacturers of neonicotinoid pesticides that have been banned in the European Union and Ontario, but Canada’s Pest Management Regulatory Agency has failed to act on a ban.
